Great long-term contract role with a large financial services company in downtown KC.


The Security Administration Team maintains a broad knowledge of H&R Block systems and processes with an expert understanding of their interrelationship and dependencies related to user access. Performs procedures to grant, modify, and revoke accesses of Retail Tax and Corporate associates and those in a non:employee role at H&R Block. Assures system accesses are appropriately granted and maintained in accordance with H&R Block policies and standards.


  • Responsible for processing user access change requests for a variety of applications and systems including but not limited to new user setups, transfers, terminations.
  • Respond to requests from users/Tier 1 customer support team to resolve access problems while adhering to corporate Information Security Policy, departmental procedures and Service Level Agreements, (SLA’s).
  • Build, renew and maintain SOP’s policies, procedures and user request forms ensuring accuracy.
  • Use current information security best practices to optimize the management and maintenance of a company wide access control program.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly audits on critical systems to determine access is appropriate and complies with PCI, SOX and Company guidelines.
  • Perform File Level Permission review and manage the retention of related audit documentation.
  • Complete other tasks/projects assigned by the manager


Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Three plus years experience in a similar position or performing similar functions.

Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

Basic understanding of Windows system administration (LDAP, DHCP, DNS, IIS, etc).

Ability to rapidly learn to manage user identities and accounts across multiple systems following corporate guidelines.

Confidence and desire to be a "one stop" contact for all users on user account administrations issues, and always to be a positive, helpful interface for IT staff in need of assistance. If you cannot assist, you are there to direct them to someone who can.

Ability to maintain security and confidentiality of information accessible on managed systems.

Demonstrated operational discipline and thoroughness in most/all aspects of his/her work – e.g., status reporting, documentation, following process and procedure.

The ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent assignments, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.

Requires excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to work in a complex environment.

Possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence, and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.

Demonstrated ability to plan and work to an identified set of priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with regulatory or compliance framework (Sarbanes Oxley, PCI, etc.)
